Based in the beautiful setting of the Precincts of Canterbury Cathedral and St Augustine’s Abbey – a World Heritage Site – The King’s School is one of the oldest and most prestigious Schools in the country with an enviable record of academic excellence and achievement.
We wish to appoint a well-qualified graduate to join the English Department for the Autumn Term 2023 to cover the sabbatical of a member of the department after 12 years distinguished service running a boarding house.
The teaching is likely to cover four or five of the year groups from Shell (Year 9) to 6a (Year 13) and so we are looking for a teacher with some experience, not an NQT or someone new to the profession, to join the department in this full-time but short-term role.
A teaching qualification is desirable but not essential. There may be the possibility of further part-time or full-time teaching opportunities at King’s beyond this one term, depending on the candidate and the needs of the school.
The King’s School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service. The School will also carry out an online search of all shortlisted candidates.
Applications including a CV and Covering letter to be made online, at: https://tinyurl.com/Kings-Vacancies
Closing date for Applications is 21 February 2023.
